UNICA

The Unit of Biochemistry (dep. of Biomedical Sciences) is always been involved in bioremediation and valorisation of agricultural wastes. In particular in the last decade the treatment of by-products of cork processing, winemaking by-products by means of the fungine organism Pleurotus has been studied. Our labs are equipped with microbiological instrumentation, and biochemical and organic and inorganic chemical instrumentation for the characterization of various lignocellulosics and biological materials of vegetal and microbiological origin
